Refuelling properly post workout is so important for your body, your muscles and your energy levels, which is why I came up with this yummy, super easy and nutrient-packed Choc Berry Smoothie.

It's important to make sure you’re getting a good dose of clean protein post workout, healthy fats to keep you fuller for longer, carbohydrates and a good dose of energy sustaining foods to make sure you don’t crash an hour later.

I love adding in Maca powder (1 tsp) if my energy is really low, Cacao powder (1 tbsp) if I want more of a chocolate hit and one frozen banana if I need my smoothie to replace a main meal and fill me up.

INGREDIENTS AND DIRECTIONS

INGREDIENTS

  • ¾ cup of frozen or fresh organic berries
  • 1 scoop of Go Good Chocolate Pea Protein Powder
  • 2 tbsp of desiccated coconut
  • 1-2 medjool dates
  • 2 tsp of MCT oil
  • 1 ½ cups of almond milk or coconut milk
  • handful of ice

DIRECTIONS

Place all the ingredients into your blender and blitz until smooth and creamy. Top with a sprinkle of bee pollen and more coconut.

Glass of chocolate and berry post workout smoothie.

EXTRA TIPS

Make sure not to wait too long post workout before refuelling. You have a window of around 30 minutes to repair your muscles, so you want to make sure you’re getting in a great snack, especially if you want to workout every day. I make sure to have my blender all ready to go before my workout so its that much easy post-workout or I whip up my smoothie before I leave so it’s there and ready when I get home.
